The options in the sub-compact category have been growing leaps and bounds in recent years. Sig Saur Introduced the P238 back in 2009 with many variations in production today. The Copperhead Features gold inlay of its name on the side of the slide and of the snake on the top. The P238 is slim and light-weight for easy handling and concealment. Plus its made in the USA

The Copperhead proved to have as much bite as its namesake. It would make great primary carry weapon and/or backup weapon. The handling and double-tap performance exceeded my expectations. One would normally expect more muzzle flip from such a small frame but the 238 surprised me in the fact it had less muzzle flip than my SIG P226 in 9mm.
The size of the 238 makes it easy to handle in just about any hands that pick it up. On the day I performed the review of the Copperhead I had a couple of guests with me. My 10 year old son and my sister-in-law had joined me. Neither one had ever handled a pistol; in fact my sister-in-law had never shot any gun. The gun was easy for both of them to handle and further confirmed that this little sub-compact was unlike many others its size. The 238 was easy to fire single or double handed.
After throwing everything I could think of at the Copperhead I conclude that this is one snake that would be a great addition to anyone’s pocket.
Happy shooting, God bless America and God bless you and yours
